The G4F Network Is Growing

Become a better Maine Tidewater Guide And Fisheries Advocate

G4F Maine is sponsored by the Maine Department of Marine Resources, facilitated by Keep Fish Wet & FOAM, and is focused on striped bass guides.

G4F Maine Program

This course is focused on striped bass.  Any Maine tidewater guide is eligible to apply regardless of preferred gear type (G4F Maine is not fly fishing only).  There is no cost to guides to participate, and all participants must complete an online section of the course and be available for a 3 day in-person practicum from May 23 – May 25, 2023. The program is limited to 20 individuals and run by Keep Fish Wet and Fishing Outfitters Association of Montana. This program was developed in cooperation with the Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR), using funding made available to DMR through the Consolidated Appropriations Act.

All interested individuals are invited to apply by filling out the application form below.

G4F Maine consists of online and in-person components and will cover topics from ethics, regulations and history, to biology, ecology and stewardship. The goal of the program is to develop well-rounded guides that know their biology, can “speak” fisheries science, and serve as effective advocates for striped bass and coastal ecosystems in Maine.
